Expect the Cretan wild goat „Kri Kri“, the Crete spiny mouse, the Cretan badger and wildcat and some endemic subspecies, wildlife of Crete shows nothing special. Based on references the Crete fauna includes approximately 30 mammal species, 170 species of birds (e.g. Falcon Eleonorae), 17 amphibians and reptile.

No longer to be found in its genetically pure form is the Cretan wild goat “Kri Kri”. Most are hybrids / bastards of the F2 generation based on Mendel’s law. Homozygous hybrid lines (F1 generation) should still exist but are hard to find.
