Butterflies

At this point information sheets to "endangered and protected" butterflies can be found. Each leaflet embraces a butterfly type and describes (with pictures) its appearance, size, metamorphosis, lifestyle, caterpillars, fodder crops, and biotope requirements. The information sheets are "round" information about a specific type of butterfly and also give clues of what can be done to preserve and protect these flying jewels. The leaflets also inform about the phylogenetically development, biology, and requirements for the habitats of butterflies.

Figure 1 shows a sail swallowtail (Iphiclides podalirius). He is believed to be one of the most beautiful European butterflies. Iphiclides podalirius has a wingspread of 60 to 80 mm and is up to 45 mm in length.
Fig. 2 shows a "hanging" Caterpillar of a sail swallowtail for pupation.
